OptiX Road to 2022 Issue 10: FTTM All-Optical Intersection

Online joint control of urban traffic is rapidly gaining traction. The FTTM all-optical intersection solution reconstructs the intersection network system. Just one optical cable and one electrical cable need to be deployed to support traffic light control, ePolice data backhaul, and checkpoint data backhaul over one network. Compared with the traditional network that uses more than 100 cables, the FTTM all-optical intersection solution shortens the construction period from 2 weeks to 1–2 days, improving the efficiency by 80%, and reducing the TCO by over 30%.
