SAN Certification Introduction

Specifically designed — indeed named — for storage network scenarios, the Storage Area Network (SAN) certificate is mandatory for vendors to enter the Data Center Interconnect (DCI) market. It comprehensively tests the compatibility, reliability, and stability of storage network devices to ensure uninterrupted service.

EANTC Certifies Huawei OptiXtrans DC908

On June 22, 2020, Huawei's OptiXtrans DC908 — an intelligent DCI product — was awarded SAN certification by EANTC for its performance in DCI scenarios and industry-leading capacity. EANTC designed strict interoperability test cases based on real-world DCI service scenarios: Huawei OptiXtrans DC908 successfully passed all of the test cases and met all certification requirements.

Comments from Carsten Rossenhövel, CTO of EANTC

"We focused on enterprise compatibility, stability and connectivity. Huawei OptiXtrans DC908 is compatible with Fibre Channel (FC) switches from different vendors and can flexibly support different FC speeds. We tested the Wide Area Network (WAN) link failover capabilities and OptiXtrans DC908 passed each of our failover scenarios. The system also passed data without loss and provided deterministic propagation delay between two 100 km geographically separated Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) network nodes. Finally, we conducted a long term soak test monitoring FC for forwarding performance over a period of 24 hours and the OptiXtrans DC908 system remains stable and provide consistent service during the whole time."
