Designed to ensure safer production, the Huawei Fiber To The Machine (FTTM) mining solution provides all-fiber service bearer networks for the mining industry, featuring ultra-ten gigabit bandwidth, microsecond-level deterministic low latency, and all-fiber connections.
Through technological innovations — in architectures, protocols, and processes — the solution ensures mine production networks run smoothly and improves electrical, service, construction, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) safety. Meanwhile, it also provides high-quality office and living network coverage for mine parks and living areas.
The Huawei Fiber to the Office (FTTO) mine campus network uses Huawei's FTTO campus solution to provide mining office services, such as Internet access, video, telephone, and Wi-Fi coverage; living networks, such as hotels, single dormitories, and family apartments; and mining management networks that enable functions such as Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), access control, and alarms.
The FTTM mine communication network adopts the FTTM all-optical industrial network solution. Oriented to the mine production network, it carries the remote control and monitoring network of various production devices; the monitoring backhaul of a range of environmental data; underground video monitoring; and the personnel positioning, dispatching, and command network.
In the mining scenario, Huawei's FTTM solution features underground pre-connection and intrinsic safety, providing high security and easy deployment for customer networks. Thanks to the passive optical splitter and intrinsically safe optical ring end (ORE), there is no need for explosion-proof boxes in a mine. The application of the pre-connection technology avoids underground fiber splicing and improves the installation efficiency by more than 10 times. Huawei OptiXstar T863E-DE is an intrinsically safe ORE with an industrial-grade design and support for Type B and Type C full-link protection, delivering a link switching latency of less than 30 ms. This ground-breaking product provides high security and reliability for Wi-Fi, sensing, camera, and control services in mines.
