New patented methods relating to Edge and Cloud computing for IoT purposes

Karabet Krikorian, head of IoT Industry 4.0 Solutions innovation at Huawei, talks about new patents related to Edge and Cloud Computing.

Together with his colleague Jesse Luo, he got patents granted by the European Patent Office for methods relating to Edge and Cloud computing for IoT purposes.

Time sensitive calculations are processed on the edge before the cloud will synchronize the data with the edge device. Networking Function Virtualisation transfers functions to the edge device, and this device itself will be fully in control of devices lower in the hierarchy.

Different protocols are discussed in the patent. These protocols increase efficiency, security and reliability.
