The award winning Huawei S12700 agile switch has been built on a fully programmable architecture that supports customized business requirements and quick deployment via software upgrades without the need to replace hardware. The S12700 agile switch addresses immediate challenges such as the convergence of fixed and wireless networks, implementing cloud computing and facilitating video transmission, and can also adapt to upcoming technologies and trends such as Software Defined Networks (SDN), big data and the Internet of things. Huawei’s agile network solutions, which are designed with the S12700, helps enterprises transform their business operations and provide innovative service offerings at four times the speed. Since the launch of the agile switch in August 2013, the solution has been deployed in two hundred commercial enterprise networks around the world.

During the event, event participants also had the opportunity to experience Huawei’s Oceanstor UDS massive data storage system. The solution has been developed based on distributed architecture and has independent computing and intelligent IP connectivity capabilities. It features SmartDisk hard drives, high-density storage nodes and a peer-to-peer distributed storage engine. It is extremely energy-efficient and helps to build massive data storage solutions with high reliability, EB-class scalability and intelligent system recovery capability, which is critical for enterprises when they migrate ICT systems to the cloud and develop public cloud services with operators. Huawei’s OceanStor UDS has been deployed by enterprises such as Vodafone, Telefonica, StarHub in Singapore, RCS-RDS in Romania, Phoenix TV, and across multiple industries.

Other core enterprise ICT solutions such as its Huawei’s agile network, cloud data center and ultra-high definition network were also showcased at the event. These solutions were developed to address the challenges of enterprises when deploying ICT technology in data centers and campuses. Highlights of the solutions include:

-- Agile Network Solution: The solution features Huawei’s campus core switch S12700 with customized forwarding functions, aggregation switch S9700/S7700 that can be upgraded to the agile switch with high-density/mass storage capability and dual-band forward compatible 802.11ac WiFi. It is an open platform that supports future business needs to protect investments and significantly simplifies network management.

-- Cloud Data Center Solution: The solution features ExaByte-level scalable cloud storage UDS, solid-state drive (SSD), PCIe SSD card/Droado storage, and Huawei’s data center core switch CloudEngine12832, which has the largest data storage capacity in the industry. It is a comprehensive ICT solution that combines relevant data center technologies such as computing, storage and networking to improve the overall performance and capacity of data centers for enterprise users.

-- Ultra-High Definition Network: The solution features Huawei’s BAS hot stand-by system with IP core video optimization, MPLS-TP network multicast based PTN and next-generation optical access NG-PON/Cable-accelerated D-CMTS.

Huawei ‘s booth also featured innovative and cutting-edge ICT products and solutions including the company’s industry-leading data center switch CloudEngine12832, the industry’s first agile switch S12700, advanced massive data storage system UDS, all-in-one solution FusionCube, and the industry’s first ICT integrated mobile Internet gateway AR511. Among these solutions, the CloudEngine12832 designed for cloud data centers and the 16*100GE line card were unveiled for the first time.

Huawei also supported Interop’s ShowNet with its Universal Service Router NE40E-X2 that provided a gateway to interconnect with mainstream Japanese router manufacturers. The router provided hundreds of exhibitions and more than 100,000 visitors with convenient, safe and reliable web services throughout the event.

As the largest ICT event in Japan, Interop Tokyo has been held consecutively for twenty one years. In 2014, the event was held in Makuhari, Chiba, Japan from June 11 to June 13.
