Hannover, Germany, March 14, 2014 – Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today showcased its industry-leading CloudEngine12800 (CE12800) series data center core switches and the world's highest-performance T-bit 12x100GE line cards at CeBIT 2014, in Hannover, Germany. The CE12800 is a series of high-performance core switches designed by Huawei for cloud computing data centers, providing advanced switching capacity to help enterprises address the challenges brought by cloud computing and big data in the T-bit internet era.
Adopting an advanced hardware architectural design, Huawei’s CE12800 switches fully address the needs of cloud data centers as they develop and evolve. They provide a maximum of 64 Tbit/s switching capacity, enable 4 Tbit/s bandwidth per slot, and support high-density line-speed ports, including 192x100GE, 384x40GE or 1536x10GE ports, with the configuration of the Huawei T-bit 12x100GE line cards. In addition, the CE12800 switches use an industry-leading clos-based architecture and a front-to-rear ventilation channel design to provide high, industrial-level reliability. It also provides comprehensive virtualization capabilities and multiple data center features. As an additional benefit, the CE12800 leverages innovative energy-saving technologies to substantially reduce power consumption.
In addition to the CE12800, Huawei also showcased its brand new T-bit 12x100GE high-speed line cards during CeBIT. These line cards provide 12x100GE CFP2 interfaces, boasting 1.2 Tbit/s line-speed forwarding capability, which is the highest in the industry. It supports 10 km standard optical modules and the industry's largest capacity (2M) of forwarding table entries, providing a stable, reliable, and secure high-performance L2/L3 line-speed forwarding capacity. Each line card supports a shared 18 GB in-board dynamic cache, which enables it to address traffic bursts in data centers. In addition, the line cards are extremely energy-efficient, with a maximum power consumption of less than 700 W supported by a conjoined radiator that enables heat dissipation and temperature evening for high-power-consumption chips.
