Shenzhen, China, November 22, 2013–Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, announced that its storage products support Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2.

Microsoft recently released its latest operating system Windows Server 2012 R2 to global customers. Recent, Huawei announced that its entire OceanStor storage product lineup has been tested and found to be compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2. Behind Huawei Storage's swift support are Huawei's deep technical cooperation with Microsoft and product enhancements made to support Windows Server 2012 R2. All the OceanStor products have been certified for Windows Server 2012 R2. The required tests, including connectivity test, Multiple IO multipathing test, Windows Server failover cluster test, and Hyper-V feature verification, have all been successfully completed. The test results have been published on Microsoft's website: http://windowsservercatalog.com/results.aspx?&chtext=&cstext=&csttext=&chbtext=&bCatID=1283&cpID=12627&avc=10&ava=80&avq=0&OR=1&PGS=25&ready=0

In addition to Windows Server 2012 R2, Huawei is also the first Chinese company to participate in Microsoft's private cloud Fast Track project. Huawei has already launched its Private Cloud Solution for small medium enterprises, which provides a virtualization platform built on OceanStor storage and Windows Server 2012. The Shenzhen-based firm plans to release the new Private Cloud Solution for Medium-sized Enterprises based on Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 this year. This solution will allow an enterprise to set up a trustworthy, scalable, and easy-to-use private cloud system with a small initial investment. As business expands, enterprises can easily add necessary hardware and VM resources without changing the original IT architecture. This seamless expansion fully protects customers' initial investment.

Zhang Liwu, General Manager of the Huawei Storage Solutions Department, said, "To prove full compatibility with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, Huawei has conducted more product function tests than its counterparts. Therefore, customers need not worry about compatibility issues when deploying applications on the new operating system. In addition, the launch of HUAWEI Private Cloud Solution for Medium-sized Enterprises stands a testimony to Huawei's determination to build a healthy ecological chain with partners, and also demonstrates Huawei's capabilities and achievements in pursuing development with its partners."
