Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, attended the SuperOp! 2013 held by the International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC) in Portugal. Huawei's videoconferencing products successfully passed the interoperability testing with equivalent products from mainstream videoconferencing vendors. Thanks to the industry-leading interoperability, Huawei's videoconferencing products can protect customers' existing investments in videoconferencing systems and assist customers in expanding videoconferencing platforms to a broader service scope, enabling flexible face-to-face communication and improving collaboration efficiency while reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO) for enterprises.
As a member of the IMTC's Board of Directors, Huawei had attended the IMTC interoperability testing conference for three times. Moreover, Huawei was the only Chinese vendor present at the conference. This time Huawei engineers performed the interoperability testing for an impressive array of its videoconferencing products, including TE30 videoconferencing endpoint, VP9650 Multipoint Control Unit (MCU), Service Management Center 2.0 (SMC2.0), and VP9039A high-definition endpoint. The testing results were highly recognized by the Open Visual Communications Consortium (OVCC) members.
The IMTC SuperOp! is an open platform that allows companies that manufacture multimedia telecommunications equipment to make their products work seamlessly with equipment from other companies. The SuperOp! 2013 attracted all tier-one videoconferencing vendors, including Huawei.
As a leading global videoconferencing solutions provider, Huawei insists on standard and open strategies to offer more flexible and efficient video experience for customers. On the one hand, Huawei videoconferencing products and solutions interoperate with: similar products from mainstream vendors; UC platforms from IBM Sametime, Microsoft Lync2010/OCS2007, and Huawei eSpace; and Skype Internet call services, helping enterprises to extend videoconferencing to a broader service scope. On the other hand, Huawei is always dedicated to collaborating with international standards organizations, such as MTC, OVCC, ITU, and MPEG, to formulate audio and video standards and to further the goal of standardization.
