Huawei Launches Industry's Highest-Performance, Small-Capacity Wireless Access Controller AC6005

Shenzhen, China, August 6, 2013 – Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, recently launched two models of its next-generation access control, (AC) AC6005 wireless access controller, the AC6005-8 and AC6005-8-PWR, featuring Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. This latest innovation forms part of Huawei’s AC6005 suite of products, designed to be applicable to multiple industry scenarios including: wireless campus, education, finance, hospitality and small- and medium-sized businesses.

With the commercialized use of 802.11ac access points (APs), high deployment costs of large-capacity ACs and the popularity of multimedia applications, traditional small-capacity ACs can no longer meet the ever-changing requirements of business operations. The Huawei AC6005 series uses a next-generation, high-performance, and multi-core CPU; provides 4 Gbit/s forwarding capability; and can manage up to 128 APs. With its leading performance and high cost-effectiveness, the Huawei AC6005 has become the optimal choice in the construction of future wireless networks.

The AC6005 demonstrates carrier-class quality with the following features:

  • Leading performance: The AC6005 provides 4 Gbit/s centralized forwarding capability (twice that of the industry average) and can manage up to 128 APs, making it ideal for medium-sized enterprise campuses.
  • High reliability: The mean time between failures (MTBF) for controller hardware is over 48 years, allowing customers to benefit from long-term utilization of investment. To ensure high network stability, the AC6005 software can support AC backup and intelligent adjustment during radio faults.
  • Comprehensive functions: The AC6005 features industry-leading technologies, including web management, spectrum analysis, wireless positioning, mesh connection management, as well as wired and wireless integration to meet large bandwidth and high performance requirements of the 802.11ac technology.
