Porto, Portugal, June 3, 2013 –Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, recently attended SuperOp! 2013, organized by the International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC) in Portugal. IMTC SuperOp! is an engineering-focused event which provides multimedia telecommunications equipment manufacturers with an open platform to facilitate an open collaboration between all attendees for improvement of overall level of interoperability. It also enables multimedia telecommunications equipment manufacturers to allow their products to work seamlessly with equipment from other manufacturers. During SuperOp! 2013, Huawei's videoconferencing products successfully demonstrated interoperability with products from other mainstream videoconferencing vendors.
Over 5 tier-one videoconferencing vendors took part in SuperOp! 2013, it was the third time for Huawei, a member of the IMTC Board of Directors and the only Chinese vendor to participate at the conference. As part of the program in SuperOp!, Huawei engineers conducted interoperability tests on an extensive portfolio of videoconferencing products, including the TE30 High-definition Videoconferencing System, VP9650 Multipoint Control Unit (MCU), Service Management Center 2.0 (SMC2.0), and VP9039A High-definition Videoconferencing Device. The products worked seamlessly with products from other mainstream videoconferencing vendors including the united communication platforms from IBM Sametime, Microsoft Lync2010/OCS2007, Huawei eSpace, and Skype Internet call services. The test results were highly recognized by members of the Open Visual Communications Consortium (OVCC).
"With industry-leading interoperability, Huawei videoconferencing products, will help to maximize the return on investments for customers in videoconferencing systems and enable them to expand videoconferencing platforms to a broader service scope,” said Xiangjiong Wang, the Marketing Director of Huawei Telepresence & Videoconference Product Field, "This will also enable more flexible face-to-face communication and improve collaboration and operational efficiency, while reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO) for enterprises.”
As a leading global videoconferencing solutions provider, Huawei is committed to integration with the industry ecosystem to provide more flexible and efficient videoconferencing experience for customers. To achieve the goal of industry standardization, Huawei has been working closely with international standards organizations as IMTC, OVCC, International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and Moving Pictures Experts Group (MPEG) to formulate international audio and video standards.
