Las Vegas, American, 08 May 2013 - Following its successful debut at Mobile World Congress 2013, Huawei Distributed Cloud Data Center (DC²) was further launched at Interop. With its innovation concept of "physically dispersed, logically centralized" and new-generation data center architecture, Huawei DC² is committed to help customers create efficient, reliable, and green enterprise data centers, which has attracted widespread attention.

In recent years, cloud data center construction is worldwide booming, cloud computing technologies is helpful to migrate service from traditional data center to cloud data center thereby optimizing resource scheduling and improve IT resource utilization within a single data center to some extent. However, with the fast international expansion of enterprises, dispersed and independent data center architectures can no longer agilely support business expansion and changing applications. Huawei innovative DC² is committed to successfully consolidate multiple dispersed, layered, and heterogeneous data centers into a new distributed cloud data center architecture with unified management capacity of 1M servers and more flexible resource scheduling between dispersed cloud data center. Thus it helps customers protect investment, enhance management efficiency, and improve resource utilization dramatically.

"American is the largest IT technology market in the world and the place of origin for most major and emerging IT and network technologies. Huawei DC² adopts an innovative technological architecture to provide efficient and reliable data center service capacities and meets customer requirements for more flexibility and better management, which will lead the development of the industry." said Karl Kou, Head of Huawei American Enterprise Solutions & MKTG Dept.

Huawei DC² - Next Generation Data Center Architecture in the Cloud Era

There are three key technologies and one innovative application for enterprise branch in DC². For the data center operation and maintenance part, Huawei ManageOne conducts unified management of dispersed and layered data centers, even including the remote branch. For the data center operating system part, Huawei FusionSphere enabled by OpenStack ensures the architecture is open and supports plug-and-play of IT devices with heterogeneous interfaces and multiple virtual products. For the data center network part, Huawei NaaS effectively consolidates virtualization and SDN together for service flexible drifting between cloud data centers. For the enterprise branch data center, Huawei MicroDC complements rapid deployment in 3 hours, global unified management in headquarter no attendant operation in branches.

Huawei has been an active innovator in the data center field for more than a decade. By Q1 2013, Huawei helped global customers build more than 260 data centers, 35 of which are cloud data centers, including State Information Center of China, Digital Hospital of Ghana government and China Mobile International Information Port, which occupies more than 300,000 square meters and is one of the world’s largest data centers.
