Shanghai, China, April 2, 2013 - Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced its appointment as an official member of the TETRA and Critical Communications Association (TCCA). This development builds on Huawei’s continued commitment of promoting the evolution of professional trunking technologies by building on Huawei’s rich technical experience.

Formerly known as the TETRA Union (Tetra MoU Association), TCCA comprises and represents more than 160 organizations, including users, device manufacturers, application providers, integrators, operators, and testing institutions. In promoting industry development and strengthening the foundation of communication technology, the focus areas for TCCA include the study of next-generation broadband professional trunking systems, and close cooperation with standards organization 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) to enhance voice dispatch functions based on the LTE standard and promote the standardization of the next generation private network.

As a leader in the public communications equipment space, Huawei has played an active role in standards development, working closely with organizations such as 3GPP. Since 2010, Huawei has contributed 311 proposals in the 3GPP LTE / LTE-A core standards area, accounting for nearly 20% of the total number of proposals. In joining TCCA, Huawei will work with industry partners to achieve in-depth understanding of market requirements in the professional communications industry, as well as leverage its extensive experience in wireless broadband trunking technology to drive the standardization of LTE broadband trunking.

As an important player and active innovator in the broadband trunking field, Huawei recently launched the world's first professional LTE-based broadband trunking solution at CeBIT 2013, which was held in Germany in March 2013. Based on LTE technology, the solution is able to provide a series of industry-leading features, including: multimedia trunking service with the speed of up to hundreds of megabytes to support users’ visual dispatch demands; professional trunking performance with group setup delayof less than 300 milliseconds and PTT delay of less than 150 milliseconds; ability to support a variety of frequency bands; flexible networking; as well as high adaptability to harsh environments. In addition, the solution demonstrates excellent performance, providing ultra-long distance coverage of up to 100 kilometers and high-quality communication under the speed of 430km per hour. Built on Huawei's comprehensive technical expertise in the wireless communications field, the new eLTE solution is able to effectively help enterprise customers improve operational efficiency and save costs.
