As the constant development of digitalization technologies helps accelerate the expansion of HD TV channels and IMAX/3D film markets, HD TV, digital media libraries, Omnimedia, and HD films have become growing trends in the media industry. To embrace these trends, Huawei has launched a series of media solutions for IP-based all-in-one network, tapeless media assets, TV non-linear editing (NLE) systems, and film post-production systems. In the IP-based all-in-one network solution, the storage system adopts the fully distributed scale-out architecture, which delivers 5 million OPS performance and 170 GB/s bandwidth. A single file system is able to manage a maximum of 40 PB storage space. In addition, the system capacity and performance are both scalable on demand, and system performance linearly grows as the number of nodes increases. The outstanding scalability of 288 nodes far outstrips the average industrial level.
Huawei's TV station infrastructure solution brings into full play Huawei's distinct advantages in the network and storage fields. This solution combines these advantages and optimizes advanced features such as dynamic storage tiering (DST), quality of service (QoS) enhancement, one-click deployment, and unified management. In doing so, the solution ensures service stability, enables resource sharing across different systems, and boosts TV channel production efficiency. As for the film post-production solution, Huawei delivers flexible deployment and adjustment. At different service phases, M&E customers can adjust the solution deployment to meet their current requirements with an efficient and reliable service platform. Moreover, the flexible and well-established IT infrastructure adapts to future service increase.
Committed to delivering a reliable M&E solution to customers, Huawei has established extensive and in-depth cooperation with most celebrated medial application providers including Quantum, Oracle, SAP, Dayang, Sobey, and Jetsen. Huawei M&E ICT infrastructure solution has already been chosen by world famous TV stations and film-making institutes. These customers include IMG, Rain Post, Pinewood, Disney UK, All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK), China Central Television (CCTV), China Network Television, and Phoenix TV station. The high performance, open architecture, high energy efficiency, and cutting-edge technologies of the M&E solution have instilled vigor and vitality to the customers' business development.
Mr. Ding Wenhua, chief engineer of CCTV, commented on Huawei's solution, "Huawei's storage solution is powerful enough to help us provide high performance, large bandwidth, and reliable storage for our TV program production and broadcasting networks. CCTV is willing to join Huawei in its efforts to promote the development of medial digitalized storage technology."
"Building an open and win-win ecological chain is an idea that Huawei always adheres to." said Mr. Fan Ruiqi, the president of Huawei IT and Storage Product Line. "We would like to utilize this opportunity to explore communication and cooperation with more customers and partners. With influential storage experts and profound technical experience, Huawei lays its focus on providing innovative technologies and architecture and commits itself to providing a converged and easy-to-manage solution to its customers. In addition, we are seeking extensive and close partnership to build an end-to-end IT solution that is targeted to the M&E industry. Our mission is to help make customers' business more agile and successful."
