Shenzhen, China, October 21, 2010 – Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. recently announced that it won the bid for the network equipment selection project of Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) with its high-end S9300 LAN switches. Huawei obtains more than one third province-level share of ABC. This indicates that Huawei LAN switches have been widely deployed on core networks of four major commercial banks in China.
In the four major commercial banks, ABC features the largest coverage with the most branch offices. Banks set high requirements for data communications devices to ensure high service security and stability. In May 2009, Huawei high-end LAN switches was put into pilot operation for ABC. Operating with reliable performance and high stability, the LAN switches support excellent compatibility and ability of layer 2 and layer 3 switching, and therefore highly satisfy ABC. Subsequently, Huawei high-end LAN switches passed the tests of the head office and level-1 branches of ABC. With features of large-capacity line rate forwarding and high density, flexibility, and scalability and powerful service ability, the LAN switches fully meet the requirements of ABC core service application. In this case, ABC is highly satisfied with the LAN switches.

By June 30, 2010, Huawei had shipped nearly 4 million sets of S-series LAN switches and nearly 1 million routers. These products are widely used in the sectors of government, telecommunications, finance, transport, electricity, education, and petroleum.
