NetEngine40E high-end universal service routers are designed to serve as core nodes on enterprise WANs, access nodes on large-scale enterprise networks, interconnection and aggregation nodes on campus networks, and edge nodes on large-scale IDC networks.
They are designed on a 2T platform and use Huawei-proprietary Solar chipsets and Versatile Routing Platform (VRP). The routers provide the industry’s largest-capacity 2T routing line cards and can be used in mature WAN SDN solutions. With high performance, low power consumption, innovative IP hard pipe technology, and capable of quick evolution, NetEngine40E routers meet the low latency and high reliability requirements of business-critical services.
Industry-leading NetEngine40Es have won a number of international awards and are widely used by governments and industries such as electric power, transportation, broadcasting and television, and finance.
NetEngine40E’s industry-leading 2T boards can evolve to 4T and, in the near future, will provide 400G ports. NetEngine40E high-density, compact ports save space and use Huawei-proprietary Solar chipsets and energy-saving technology to achieve large capacity and high performance with low power consumption.
NetEngine40E series are based on an SDN architecture. With industry-leading MPLS and native IP network optimization technologies, NetEngine40E series address problems such as uneven traffic distribution, low bandwidth utilization, and low network convergence caused by repeated topology computations in the case of faults.
IP hard pipe technology is another Huawei innovation (RFC 7625). It uses existing technologies such as MPLS TE and HQoS to guarantee the exclusive SDH-like hard pipe use of leased line services through hardware resource reservation, and ensures low latency and high reliability.
