[Essen, Germany, July 27, 2020] Huawei's iMaster NCE-Fabric — an autonomous driving network (ADN) management and control system for data centers — beat a host of other entries from around the world to win the Red Dot Design Award 2020. In particular, the award recognizes its unique and innovative design.
Along with the iF Design Award (Germany) and IDEA International Design Excellence Awards (America), the Red Dot Design Award is one of the world's three major design awards. Facing fierce competition from so many world-class offerings, this is the first year that Huawei has successfully taken home this prestigious design award in the network management and control domain. A jury of top experts came to the consensus that Huawei iMaster NCE-Fabric was deserved of this award due to its premium user experience-centric product design and industry-leading comprehensive competitiveness.
iMaster NCE-Fabric is an automated and intelligent platform integrating management, control, and analysis functions. As a bridge between users' service intents and networks, iMaster NCE-Fabric provides intent-driven, highly automated management of data center networks throughout their lifecycles, including network planning, construction, maintenance, and optimization. In addition, iMaster NCE-Fabric provides an intelligent decision-making system, which proactively assists in decision making and therefore totally differs from the network tools that passively execute user instructions. In this way, it can implement centralized management, control, and analysis of data center networks.

iMaster NCE-Fabric converts physical network devices and data into a visible digital model so as to build a digital twin network that maps applications with networks and provides a 3D view to easily gain insights into complicated multi-layer networks. As such, iMaster NCE-Fabric sheds light on network-wide data and details layer by layer, allowing users to easily grasp the network status.
iMaster NCE-Fabric transforms passive fault detection into proactive, intuitive fault display, redefining the network troubleshooting experience. In addition, it proactively pushes fault information via digital cards and displays faults in real time in a 3D digital space view so as to facilitate network fault replay and enhance user awareness, helping users quickly obtain fault information.
In contrast to conventional human-machine interaction, Huawei iMaster NCE-Fabric intelligently identifies and translates service intents entered by users in natural languages, and automatically recommends network solutions best suited to user requirements. In particular, the entire process for translating users' service intents into network solutions is visible and can be flexibly adjusted, truly achieving "what you see is what you get" and enhancing system reliability and trustworthiness.
