[Shenzhen, China, March 18, 2020] Huawei has recently announced that its next-generation NetEngine AR600 and AR6000 series enterprise routers have passed the comparison test and verification by The Tolly Group, an international authoritative provider of testing and validation. The results showed that Huawei's next-generation NetEngine AR routers outperform competitor offerings, and are equipped to handle the growth in traffic from digital transformation in the next three to five years, leading the way to a new era of ultra-fast interconnection for enterprise WANs.
Huawei's Global Industry Vision (GIV) predicts that by 2025, 85% of enterprise applications will be moved to the cloud, resulting in significant traffic growth at the egress of enterprise WANs. Traditional private lines offer just several Mbit/s bandwidth, and are prone to network congestion, and so service experience cannot be guaranteed. Leveraging flexible and efficient application-based traffic steering,Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) is the best choice for enterprise WAN interconnection in the cloud era, as it can effectively ensure customer service experience. However, when traditional enterprise routers intersect with SD-WAN, their forwarding performance decreases by about 80% on average. In response, Huawei launched next-generation NetEngine AR enterprise routers, which offer higher forwarding performance at the egress of enterprise WANs.
Tolly tested the basic forwarding performance, IPSec performance, and service-loaded forwarding performance of low-end, mid-range, and high-end enterprise branch routers from Huawei and another mainstream vendor under the same test conditions in different enterprise application scenarios. It found that Huawei's next-generation NetEngine AR enterprise routers are well ahead of the mainstream vendor. For example, when deployed at branches of SMBs, Huawei AR6121 offers three times higher performance than comparable devices loaded with the highest-level license. Certified by Tolly, Huawei's next-generation NetEngine AR enterprise routers offer industry-leading performance and are ready for traffic surges at enterprise egresses in the cloud era.
The following figures show Tolly's performance comparison results.

Huawei has never stopped innovating its hardware and software. Powered by Huawei's unique CPU+NP heterogeneous forwarding architecture and industry-leading ultra-fast forwarding algorithms, the company's next-generation NetEngine AR enterprise routers provide three times higher forwarding performance than the industry average.
Kevin Tolly, founder and CEO of The Tolly Group, said: "We are really impressed by the ultra-high forwarding performance of Huawei's next-generation NetEngine AR enterprise routers. As indicated by our tests, they offer several times higher forwarding performance than comparable products from other vendors. I believe that Huawei's next-generation NetEngine AR enterprise routers will be the preferred choice for enterprises in the cloud era."
Gu Xiongfei, President of Huawei's WAN Product Line, said: "We are glad that Huawei's NetEngine AR enterprise routers stand out in The Tolly Group's unbiased, stringent, and systematic tests. This is yet more recognition for Huawei's NetEngine AR enterprise routers from an authoritative test organization." He continued, "In the 5G and cloud era, high performance and large bandwidth have become core requirements of enterprise egresses. Huawei focuses on customer requirements and is launching the next-generation high-performance NetEngine AR routers, which have been widely applied and recognized by customers from a wide range of sectors, including financial services, government, and carriers. We will continue to increase R&D investment and technological innovation to provide customers and partners with leading WAN products and solutions."
Through technological innovation, Huawei has gained various advantages in the WAN field, maintaining a strong growth momentum in the WAN market. Huawei's next-generation NetEngine AR enterprise routers are ideal for customers from various sectors, including governments, financial services, large enterprises, carriers, and MSPs. They help customers achieve business success in the cloud era and jointly build a fully connected, intelligent world.
