Huawei's 5G Enterprise Router Wins the Best of Show Award Special Prize at Interop Tokyo 2020

Jun 05, 2020

[Tokyo, Japan, June 5, 2020] Huawei's 5G router NetEngine AR6000 won the Best of Show Award Special Prize at Interop Tokyo 2020, the largest ICT exhibition in Japan. NetEngine AR6000 — the industry's first-of-its-kind 5G enterprise router — provides ultra-broadband, stable, and secure 5G uplinks, delivers three times the industry average forwarding performance, and integrates application optimization capabilities such as innovative adaptive forward error correction (A-FEC) for video optimization, providing optimal service experience for enterprise users.

The Best of Show Awards are a highly coveted part of Interop Tokyo, the winners of which are chosen after stringent evaluations by a judging panel made up of industry-leading experts and university professors. Awards are granted only to the most innovative, industry-leading, and commercially valuable products and solutions.

At Interop Tokyo 2020, Huawei's 5G AR was fully recognized, taking home the Best of Show Award Special Prize.

5G is reshaping all sectors at an unprecedented speed. With high bandwidth and low latency, 5G catalyzes the development of emerging services such as telemedicine and smart bank. On the other hand, enterprise WANs are facing challenges of ensuring stable transmission of key services on 5G links and enhancing device security and user privacy in open environments.

In response, Huawei launched the industry's first 5G enterprise routers, which help enterprises build faster, more stable, and more secure WANs, accelerating enterprises' digital transformation through 5G. These future-proof products offer three key advantages:

Ultra-broadband: Leveraging the industry-unique 5G Super Uplink technology, FDD and TDD combination, and full-timeslot uplinks, Huawei's 5G router increases the 5G uplink rate by 20% to 60%. It also leverages the industry-leading heterogeneous forwarding architecture and ultra-fast forwarding algorithm to deliver three times the average performance of mainstream vendors, as certified by the Tolly Group.

Always-on services: Huawei's 5G router employs abundant innovative technologies — such as multi-fed and selective receiving and 30 ms fast link switching — to offer always-on services even when the wireless network is unstable due to interference. They also provide comprehensive support for SD-WAN and incorporate the innovative adaptive forward error correction (A-FEC) algorithm to deliver smooth video experience even at 20% packet loss.

Secure interconnection: Huawei's 5G router offers a broad range of security features, including:

•Secure boot: prevents networks from being damaged due to tampering with the device boot software in an open environment.

•Multi-DNN: enables NSA slicing. Traffic of different services is transmitted in different DNNs, ensuring data security through physical isolation.

•Extensive VPN and firewall capabilities: transmit data over secure tunnels, ensuring secure and reliable interconnection of enterprise WANs.

"We are honored that Huawei's 5G AR series routers have won the Best of Show Award Special Prize at Interop Tokyo 2020. This award is testament to the Japanese ICT market's full recognition of Huawei's NetEngine AR series enterprise routers. Our new 5G router integrates Huawei's leading 5G capabilities and IP technologies, making it ideal for enterprise's WAN construction," said Gu Xiongfei, President of Huawei's WAN Domain. "Adhering to a customer-centric philosophy, Huawei will continue to explore and innovate our WAN products and solutions to better adapt to the 5G era, thereby facilitating customers' business success."
