Huawei Joins Hands with Global Organizations to Initiate the Development of the User Experience-Centric Campus Network Technical and Standard White Paper

[Barcelona, Spain, March 4, 2025] During the MWC Barcelona 2025, at the 2025 Global WLAN Industry Forum, Huawei and many industry organizations and enterprises — including WAA, Network Innovation and Development Alliance (NIDA), APAC IPv6 Council, NetworldEurope, and Grupo Visabeira — jointly initiated the development of the User Experience-Centric Campus Network Technical and Standard White Paper. The White Paper will provide standardized technical guidance for enterprises to build user experience-centric campus networks needed to accelerate their digital and intelligent transformation.

The advent of the AI era presents never-seen-before changes and opportunities. In particular, "AI for Net" and "Net for AI" have gradually become an industry consensus. The initiative for developing this White Paper comes against this backdrop, which will further clarify the core capabilities of campus networks and define next-generation campus network technologies. By underscoring standardized technical specifications and architectural designs, the White Paper will propel campus network evolution to the next generation and drive vendors to offer stable, agile, secure, and smart campus network services.

Guo Xiaoyan, Chairman of the NIDA Campus Work Team and Chief Engineer of China Northeast Architectural Design & Research Institute, said, "Wi-Fi 7 and 10-Gigabit Ethernet will be the mainstream of campus network rollouts over the next three years. The constantly evolving campus networks must always put user experience at the core, which covers wireless, wired, controller, and service systems. Indeed, user experience reflects the comprehensive experience of the entire campus network. It is also the most important indicator for measuring the value of technical solutions and network rollout standards."

Mr. Guo further added, "With a consensus on user experience, NIDA, WAA, NetworldEurope, APAC IPv6 Council, Huawei, and Grupo Visabeira jointly initiated the development of the User Experience-Centric Campus Network Technical and Standard White Paper. This move aims to unite all stakeholders in the entire industry to lead technological innovation and promote the next-generation campus network rollout standards."

Shawn Zhao, President of the Campus Network Domain, Huawei's Data Communication Campus Product Line, said, "With the rise of AI terminals and AI applications, all industries are accelerating digital and intelligent transformation. This, in turn, is posing higher demands for the quality of campus networks. As such, we need to define clearer campus network rollout standards from multiple perspectives such as bandwidth, user experience, operations and maintenance (O&M), security, and energy efficiency."

Mr. Zhao continued, "Huawei and industry partners alike advocate user experience-centric networks and believe that user experience is the most important yardstick for measuring the superiority of products and solutions over other alternatives. Huawei stands ready to collaborate with customers and partners to promote user experience-centric network rollouts, upgrade campus networks, and accelerate intelligence across diverse industries."

Looking ahead, Huawei will continue collaborating with global partners to pilot and apply next-generation campus network standards in all industries, such as public services, healthcare, education, and manufacturing. Furthermore, more vendors and industry organizations will be encouraged to join this initiative for cross-domain cooperation. All of these efforts will ultimately drive international standards-defining organizations to release mature solutions, achieve global recognition of the latest technical specifications, and propel high-quality campus network deployments into the fast lane.
