[Jakarta, Indonesia, November 20, 2024] The Electricity Connect 2024, held by Indonesian Electricity Society (MKI) and themed Go Beyond Power: Energizing the Future, took place in Jakarta from November 20 to 22. Huawei was invited to participate and received the prestigious Best Partner of Electric Power Digital Transformation and Energy Transition award from the MKI.
Jason Li, President of Global Marketing and Solutions for Electric Power Digitalization Business Unit, Huawei, in the CEO Dialogue session
Jason Li, President of Global Marketing and Solutions for Electric Power Digitalization Business Unit, Huawei, remarked, "Carbon neutrality will bring rapid growth in green energy. Initial insights show that Indonesia's installed solar PV capacity has reached about 717.7 MW, and the number of electric car charging piles is also multiplying, reaching 2704, with a target completion rate of 261%. These changes pose great challenges for electricity companies, especially on the distribution side". Jason suggests building a solid digital infrastructure to address these challenges.
He emphasized the importance of building a future-oriented, open, and sustainable technical architecture and introduced Huawei's Intelligent Distribution Solution (IDS for short): "IDS is based on the cloud-pipe-edge-pipe-device architecture, which allows us to move from single-point digitalization to open, sustainable and systematic digitalization. In addition to the practice in Shaanxi, China, IDS has also helped to detect various problems in Europe and Africa, identifying the pain points, and solving them quickly."
Julian Zeng, Director of Huawei Indonesia PLN Account Dept received the award on behalf of Huawei.
During the event, Huawei received the Best Partner of Electric Power Digital Transformation and Energy Transition award from MKI for its outstanding contribution to the development of electric power digital transformation and renewable energy in Indonesia.
Moving forward, Huawei will continue to leverage its technological expertise in the ICT industry on top of its extensive experience in supporting global power companies with their digital transformation efforts. The goal is to provide more choice of innovative solutions that can help the country effectively tackle the challenges of digital transformation and energy transition. This will expedite Indonesia's digitalization journey, drive national energy independence, and contribute to initiatives such as carbon neutrality, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
