Object storage uses Representational State Transfer (RESTful) interfaces for read and write, eliminating network security risks from complex Network-Attached Storage (NAS) protocols and interactions. Unlike traditional file storage, which organizes data into different folders in a tree structure, object storage directly accesses files through Uniform Resource Locators (URLs), just like picking items directly out of a filing cabinet drawer. In tests, object storage has shown a read speed of 10 ms in a system containing hundreds of billions of files, while file storage has reached the second level.
