Huawei Enterprise Microwave

With the development of Information Technology (IT) and the advancement of digital transformation, optical fiber has been widely adopted as a vital means of network transmission. The construction of a large number of information-based sites, such as video surveillance, is bringing numerous challenges to fiber deployment including: long construction periods, high costs, difficulties with road and property rights, and issues with deployment on complex terrains. These challenges severely hinder the development of the information industry.

Microwave is an efficient and reliable broadband wireless transmission system, which can effectively solve the problems associated with fiber deployment. About 60% of wireless base stations around the world use microwave to provide backhaul transmission with large bandwidth and high reliability that covers long distances. In industry, microwaves are mainly used in private emergency communication networks, enterprise private line interconnections, broadband access backhauls, video surveillance and information site access. Huawei's enterprise microwave solutions include traditional IP microwave (6-42 GHz), E-Band millimeter-wave microwave, unlicensed microwave, and integrated site solutions covering microwave frequency range of 5-80 GHz to meet the requirements of different industries for wireless broadband connection.

    Safe City

    Video surveillance backhaul
    Challenges: Flexible distribution and difficult fiber deployment.
    Solution: With the wireless backhaul solution, unlicensed microwaves are used for PtP/PtMP networking, and can be used with PowerCube 500.


    eLTE base station backhaul
    Challenges: Transmission requires large bandwidth, long distance, low latency, and high network reliability. 
    Solution: Traditional band IP microwave can be used to connect to the base station baseband processing unit, while E-band microwave can be used if the distance is less than 3 km.

    Leased line service is for governments and enterprises, providing them with a proprietary network suitable for scenarios such as campus network, urban building line, and industrial manufacturing line, which have strict requirements for large bandwidth and low network latency. Traditional band IP and E-band microwaves are connected to the office building rooftop, with pipelines connecting it to the inside of the building and the rest of the campus.
