Traditional IT architectures are unable to meet current needs in the financial services industry.
This is the age of big data and Internet finance. A new era for banking, it brings with it a new set of challenges, including frequent but unpredictable small transaction surges — with “seckill” as the new norm, where a limited number of goods sell out in seconds —, fast changing customer needs, and the need for ultra-rapid product innovation and equally rapid deployment.
Huawei’s Financial Cloud provides an answer, helping banks achieve rapid deployment, elastic service scaling, and high reliability, all the while keeping costs low.
Huawei’s FusionSphere cloud Operating System (OS) uses API interfaces to enable resource sharing, with high efficiency, convergence, and openness.
Through the service catalog, rapid system deployment is possible: applications that previously took one to two months to go live can now be online in a single day, with a single application node only requiring a few minutes.
And while the application system automatically expands according to service pressures, equipment costs are lowered by substituting specialized equipment with universal servers. Crucially, using the multi-level, high availability Financial Cloud, service system availability is guaranteed.
The platform provides application service catalogs that can be leveraged for service distribution and rapid service deployment. Service provision, reclamation, query, changes, and other functions can be performed through the northbound interface of FusionSphere OpenStack.
The service catalog provides a single function catalog externally, and performs service scheduling and dispatching internally. This allows Operations and Maintenance (O&M) personnel to schedule and manage heterogeneous computing, storage, and networking resources in an end-to-end, one-click, self-service mode. The northbound interface is a community-based OpenStack interface that decouples resource management from basic infrastructure. The resource scheduling layer is implemented by FusionSphere OpenStack — an enterprise version of the OpenStack community, enhanced and stabilized by Huawei. The most basic installation, deployment, and O&M abilities for FusionSphere OpenStack are provided. This includes installation, deployment, log management, time management, backup, recovery, upgrading, and patches. Based on native OpenStack, computing expansion, storage, and network plug-ins, OpenStack supports open-source community modules like Keystone, Nova, Cinder, Neutron, Ironic, Glance, Ceilometer, and Heat.
The unified management and scheduling of heterogeneous computing, storage, and network resources forms a pool of available resources after classification, optimization, and integration. Huawei’s FusionCompute creates and manages the computing resource pool to provide computing virtualization capabilities. FusionStorage creates and manages the distributed storage resource pool. OceanStor DJ creates and manages the centralized storage resource pool. Agile Controller, a Huawei SDN controller, creates and manages the network resource pool.
This layer includes physical data center computing, storage, and network resources. It also supports servers, storage, and network equipment from mainstream manufacturers, helping financial institutions achieve unified management of existing equipment.
