In the education informatization 2.0 era, with the rollout of new services such as remote education, digital library, and cloud classroom, the education network faces challenges such as insufficient bandwidth, poor coverage, and increasing O&M pressure. The Huawei Fiber to the Office (FTTO) education solution uses an all-fiber network to carry multiple services in a unified manner. The network features high reliability, large bandwidth, and wide coverage, meeting the network requirements of general education and university campus networks.
In the FTTO all-optical campus solution, passive optical splitters replace active devices, extending fibers to classrooms, dormitories, and offices. A range of optical network units (ONUs) are provided for different campus application scenarios, greatly reducing the number of extra-low voltage (ELV) rooms. In addition, with the OLT's 40 km long-distance transmission capability, one fiber connects the education bureau and primary and secondary schools, supporting the high-quality and balanced development of education resources in general education scenarios.
Huawei's Fiber To The Office (FTTO) Solution applies across school campuses, from classrooms and dormitories to administrative offices, libraries, gymnasiums, and canteens. Passive Optical Distribution Nodes (ODNs) replace active switches, with no need for an equipment room or a power supply, and with zero configuration required. This solution is environmentally friendly and energy efficient, building a solid all-optical base for the education industry.
Peng'an County is located in the middle reach of Jialing River in northeastern Sichuan. Covering 1,334 square kilometers, it takes in 39 towns and 647 villages. As a developing county in western China, it is a big challenge for Peng'an to upgrade its basic education. Merely relying on curriculum transformations will not work. How about using ICT to level up education resources and enable equal access to education? Huawei Campus OptiX opens a new window for the children from these mountainous regions.
