Wi-Fi 6E

Wi-Fi 6 Extended (Wi-Fi 6E) is an enhanced version of Wi-Fi 6 launched by the Wi-Fi Alliance. It extends the Wi-Fi 6 capabilities to the 6 GHz frequency band, offering up to 1200 MHz of additional spectrum. In January 2021, the Wi-Fi Alliance officially launched the Wi-Fi 6E certification, opening up the standard for new devices.

Wi-Fi 6E vs. Wi-Fi 6

Inheriting all the new technologies of Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E extends Wi-Fi networks from the conventional 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands to the new 6 GHz frequency band, ranging from 5.925 GHz to 7.125 GHz.* This new spectrum range is open and clean, without overlapping channels or interference. As a result, Wi-Fi 6E provides wider frequency bands, more channels, and lower interference, achieving higher throughput, lower latency, and larger capacity.
