HNS 2025 | Huawei, IEEE, and Industry Pioneers Release Wi-Fi 7 Advanced Technology White Paper for Latin America

——Driving AI-Powered Wi-Fi Evolution and Creating a New Intelligent and Secure Wireless Ecosystem

São Paulo, Brazil

[São Paulo, Brazil, August 5, 2025] At the Huawei Network Summit 2025 (HNS 2025) held in São Paulo, Brazil, Huawei—together with IEEE and industry pioneers—released the Wi-Fi 7 Advanced Technology White Paper (hereinafter referred to as the "White Paper"). The White Paper highlights the groundbreaking innovations of Wi-Fi 7 Advanced, including 80 MHz continuous networking across multiple wireless access points (APs), integrated Wi-Fi communication and sensing, and comprehensive security. It offers strategic insights into the evolution and adoption of next-generation Wi-Fi technologies, paving the way for a more efficient, intelligent, and secure wireless network ecosystem.

Dr. Edward Au, IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) Technical Editor, said, "Wi-Fi 7 ushers in a new era of high-speed, low-latency connectivity. Building on this foundation, Wi-Fi 7 Advanced incorporates multi-AP coordination—an innovation paving the way for Wi-Fi 8. It also introduces groundbreaking capabilities around wireless APs to build campus networks that integrate communication, sensing, and IoT. These advancements enhance campus experiences, strengthen security, and boost digital service productivity—making every corner smarter, safer, and more efficient."

Wi-Fi 7 Advanced stands out for three unique features: superfast seamless connectivity, intelligent spaces, and comprehensive security.

Superfast seamless roaming: Enhancing user experience is a top priority. To achieve this, Wi-Fi 7 Advanced integrates Intelligent Coordinated Scheduling and Spatial Reuse (iCSSR)—a cutting-edge multi-AP coordination technology that lays the groundwork for Wi-Fi 8. These enable large-scale 80 MHz networking and deliver a 100% increase in single-user data rates. Wi-Fi 7 Advanced also leverages innovative VIP FastPass technology to guarantee deterministic latency for VIP users. Together, these innovations create an ultra-broadband 10 Gbps office network tailored for future enterprise workplace scenarios such as virtual digital humans, AR-assisted workflows, and online AI computing.

Intelligent spaces: Wi-Fi 7 Advanced extends networks beyond connectivity into sensing capabilities. It leverages integrated Wi-Fi communication and sensing technologies, which can be seamlessly integrated with the building management system (BMS), enabling up to 30% energy savings across the campus. All of these innovations create a campus-wide digital twin to enable intelligent campus operations.

Comprehensive security: Wi-Fi 7 Advanced delivers multi-dimensional protection across both link and spatial layers. Specifically, it adopts Wi-Fi Shield technology, an innovation that leverages AI-powered signal scrambling to ensure zero leakage of critical data. It also supports intrusion detection through Wi-Fi Channel State Information (CSI) sensing, which precisely identifies environmental anomalies and enables real-time spatial security monitoring. These unique capabilities help build a full-coverage, zero-trust security architecture for future-ready networks.
