The all-optical bearer solution for power broadband operations is based on the power grid framework and generally adopts a three-layer architecture of "backbone layer–aggregation layer–access layer."
This solution fully utilizes the existing power infrastructure resources including fibers, substations, and towers to build a next-generation electric power communication network that features flexible bandwidth, ultra-high reliability, deterministic low latency, and rapid service provisioning. In this way, the solution can help power companies build competitive communication networks.

Architecture

Backbone layer

N x 400G + OXC all-optical mesh networks are built based on power plants and hub substations, and ASON control planes are deployed to achieve ms-level self-healing of network-wide services.

Aggregation layer

N x 100G ring networks are formed based on the backbone substations to provide 1+1 link-level protection with a service availability of 99.999%.

Access layer

N x 10G elastic wavelength channels are deployed in stations and power distribution rooms to provide users with flexible access nodes.
