Vice President, IoT and Telecommunications
Hugh Ujhazy leads both the Internet of Things (IoT) and Telecommunications practices for IDC Asia/Pacific.
The Telecommunications research involves leading the analysis of fixed and mobile network services across APeJ. It also includes evaluation of service provider and equipment vendor strategies in meeting these user requirements in the increasingly competitive Asia/Pacific market, assessing the impact of market liberalization, and the evaluation of new services offerings.
Hugh drives IDC’s IoT research and thought leadership related to the family of IoT use cases. Hugh’s insights help vendors, enterprises, and governments understand and navigate the evolving IoT ecosystem, identify potential solution vendors and partnership opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies and messaging, define and evaluate emerging IoT-enabled business models, and assess the financial and operational impact IoT will have on their organizations.
For the past 15 years, Hugh has specialized in driving the adoption of infrastructure and communications solutions in North America and Asia while working for leading telecoms and technology firms, including Ericsson, Hitachi Data Systems, and Oracle.
Hugh holds a Bachelor of Economics in Accounting and Computer Science from Sydney University.
