About the Customer

The People's Bank of China, the central bank of the People's Republic of China, controls monetary policy and regulates financial institutions, including financial risk prevention and resolution, statistics collection, bank card management, financial regulations formulation, and fake money prevention.


In the original IT system of the bank IT services ran on dual-socket servers, only one service could run on one server and an increasing number of servers were required to improve service performance. In this situation, the server resource usage rate was low. The bank planned to replace the original servers with higher-performance servers. As a result, IT services needed to be deployed again and service data needed to be restored.

The bank urgently needed a solution to resolve existing IT system issues, enhance IT system reliability, and improve staff's work efficiency.


Huawei introduced its data center IT system solution. In this solution, a virtualization system is installed on Huawei's RH5885 V2 four-socket servers and IT services are deployed on virtual machines (VM). Huawei's solution provides reliable, high-performance servers, and improves server resource utilization and service migration efficiency. This solution has the following features:

High Reliability and Performance

The RH5885 V2 generally runs mission-critical applications, such as databases and ERP. It features high performance, reliability, and scalability, and provides 35 RAS features to ensure the stable operating of the system.

High Server Resource Utilization

Dozens of service VMs can run on one four-socket server, which makes full use of server hardware resources.

High Service Migration Efficiency

Application VMs are isolated from physical hardware. When a server is faulty or replaced, services can be seamlessly migrated to another server without stopping services. This enhances service continuity and reduces IT personnel's workload.

The People's Bank of China was very satisfied with Huawei's solution, and decided to use this solution to upgrade its IT system. During four-socket server selection, Huawei recommended the RH5885 V2 four-socket rack server, which is developed based on the 32-socket server architecture technology and provides an outstanding virtualized computing platform.
