Huawei Signed an Agreement with Serbia's Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment

Huawei's most modern computer systems from now on in the State Data Center in Kragujevac

[Kragujevac, Serbia, December 11, 2020] Recently, Huawei and Serbia's Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment have signed an Agreement on the placement of equipment by which Huawei becomes another commercial user of the State Data Center in Kragujevac. The agreement was signed by Mr. Chen Chen, the General Manager of Huawei in Serbia, and prof. Dr. Mihailo Jovanović, the Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment.

"We are extremely pleased to be part of this project and to have the opportunity to attend the opening ceremony. The most modern high-performance computer systems together with the software platform for artificial intelligence of Huawei will be located in the State Data Center in Kragujevac ", said Mr. Chen Chen. He pointed out that Huawei will invest even more in such projects in the future.

Prof. Dr. Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, stressed the importance of signing a contract with Huawei.

"The signing of another commercial agreement for the storage of equipment and data in the State Data Center with Huawei is of great importance for our country. This agreement is proof of how much a large global IT company like Huawei believes in Serbia, that we are reliable, This is not only the first step, we believe that over the next years Huawei will expand the amount of equipment and data in stores in Serbia and will provide as many services as possible in the countries of the region and the whole of Europe", Jovanović pointed out.

Serbia has already cooperated with Huawei at City data center in Kragujevac, which was put into operation in March 2020, where data from city administrations, public companies and institutions are stored and provides connection to national databases, and China donated for the construction of this data center.

Huawei opened its center for innovation and digital development in Belgrade in September. Innovation Center plays a central role in the digital transformation of the entire region. Huawei's aspiration is to motivate local partners and the start-up community to jointly create modern solutions for industrial applications within this center.
