Challenges and Pain Points
Despite its reputation and facilities, MinaMark faced a growing network problem. The resort's existing infrastructure was built on equipment from a third-party vendor, deployed in 2022. Within just a few years, this hardware had become a source of persistent operational headaches.
• Poor Wireless Experience: Guests consistently reported weak or dropped signals throughout rooms and common areas. Access points struggled to handle simultaneous connections from phones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs — directly impacting guest satisfaction scores and online review ratings.
• Frequent Equipment Failures: Hardware failures had become a recurring burden. Each incident required costly technical intervention and created service downtime at a property where connectivity is a guest expectation, not an amenity.
• Outdated Infrastructure: The aging network was not architected to support modern hospitality services such as IP telephony, IPTV, and IoT expansion. Scaling or upgrading the existing setup would have required significant re-cabling and re-configuration work.

Strategic Solution: Huawei eKit
The resort partnered with a Huawei-certified installer to design and deploy a full Huawei eKit network stack. The architecture follows a clean, three-tier model that delivers high performance, simplified management, and cost-effective scalability.
Network Architecture
1. S530-48S4XE — Core Aggregation Switch Positioned at the top of the network stack, the S530-48S4XE connects the hotel's internet gateway to the floor-level distribution layer. Its high-capacity uplink interfaces ensure uninterrupted backbone throughput even during peak usage — such as event evenings or full-occupancy weekends.
2. S310-24P4S — PoE Access Switches Deployed on each floor, these access switches distribute Power over Ethernet to all connected AP266 units, eliminating the need for separate power adapters or power injectors at each access point. This simplifies cabling, reduces hardware count, and makes the distribution layer far easier to maintain.
3. AP266 — In-Room Wi-Fi 6 Access Point The AP266 is the cornerstone of the room-level deployment. Each unit supports four downlink ports and PoE out — enabling a single device to handle all wired and wireless connectivity needs for a hotel room. Smart TVs, set-top boxes, and wired devices connect via the downlink ports, while guests connect wirelessly over Wi-Fi 6. This eliminates the need for a separate in-room switch in every room.
The entire deployment is unified under Huawei's eKit APP and SNC cloud management platform, giving hotel management and the partner a single interface for monitoring network health, applying configurations, and troubleshooting issues remotely — without requiring permanent on-site network engineering staff.
Deployment: Full Installation in a Single Day
One of the most remarkable aspects of this project was the speed of delivery. The Huawei-certified partner completed the full installation and commissioning of all network equipment — covering all 300+ rooms and public areas — within a single working day.
This was made possible by Huawei's APP-based scanning and auto-configuration capabilities. The installer could scan devices, apply configurations, and verify connectivity through the eKit APP, dramatically reducing manual setup time. The partner had attended just one Huawei technical salon prior to the project and was able to independently manage the entire hotel network deployment.
