ALT Telecom Public Company Limited (ALT), a SET-listed company, is a telecom equipment installation provider based in Thailand. Founded in 2001, the company engages in the manufacture, sale, rental, installation and maintenance of comprehensive telecommunication products and services, including base stations, fiber-optic cables, telecom shelters, antennas and rapid-deployment solutions.
Over the past two decades, ALT has been working closely with top telecommunication network providers. In 2019, ALT established a subsidiary company “International Gateway Company Limited (IGC)” to pursue its mission to bridge Thailand and Southeast Asia through digital connectivity. With the mission to become the leading provider of network infrastructure and the preferred business partner for network operators across the region, ALT is devoted to providing excellent ICT infrastructure that helps its customers grow in the era of technology-led disruption. Leveraging on its long-standing expertise and knowledge in the ICT field, ALT continually seeks impactful innovations to expand its product range and services, and pursues investment opportunities to ensure sustainable growth for its clients and business partners.
With the rapid rise of 5G technology, ALT anticipates the growing demand for more reliable and efficient telecommunication equipment and infrastructure from both the public and private sectors. To better meet the new requirements of its clients, the company opted to implement new service innovations and to streamline its operations to become a fully-integrated telecommunication service provider. To achieve its goals, ALT, with its key strategic investment through IGC, needed a future-oriented ICT network that ensures reliable IT support across operations, while enabling new applications and future bandwidth expansion. The company also required a top-quality network that is highly stable, high speed and high performance, to provide its customers with the most cutting-edge solutions and dynamic services.
Huawei proposed end-to-end Optical Transport Network (OTN) using Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM). Implemented in 2017 and upgraded annually, the 100-Gigabit network allows long-haul broadband expansion. The new high-speed backbone network for ALT includes the following key features:
