Huawei and Huanghe Lab Jointly Release Security Foundation Model

[Shanghai, China, September 20, 2024] During HUAWEI CONNECT 2024, Huawei and Huanghe Lab jointly released a security foundation model to help enterprises around the globe build a solid security framework.

As a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, Huawei is committed to continuous innovation and research in network security. During this joint project, Huawei provided a technical framework for the security foundation model of Huanghe Lab by leveraging the Huawei Xinghe Intelligent Network Security Solution. The security foundation model is built on Huawei's PanguLM as well as years of experience and expertise in network security, including a massive network security corpus and the experience of thousands of network security experts. Through these solutions, they achieved intelligent security O&M and detection of advanced threats, a 10 fold improvement in security O&M efficiency, and the ability to identify unknown threats in the AI era.

As an important network security research institute in China, Huanghe Lab has an advanced product evaluation and capability improvement center, industry-level (city-level) technical verification range, national information analysis center, and network security talent development center. It provides network security services like security assessment, security range, policy consulting, and talent development.

Through this collaboration, Huawei will help Huanghe Lab implement more accurate and efficient security event reasoning, planning, and decision-making in complex and changing network environments, providing strong technical support for security governance. The Huanghe Lab will unlock its advantages in security capability application and translate the security foundation model into protection capabilities in the real world.

This joint release is not only a reflection of integration at a technical level, but also a high level of alignment between the strategic visions of both parties. By leveraging Huawei's security foundation models, Huanghe Lab will further improve the efficiency and accuracy of its network security product evaluation and help enterprises detect and fix potential security vulnerabilities in products before they can do any harm. The technical verification range and information analysis center of the lab are also used to quickly respond to and effectively defend against network threats. In addition, the two parties aim to cooperate more closely in network security product assessment, security range construction, and network security talent development to jointly safeguard and lead the industry towards more intelligent, efficient, and secure development.
