[Shanghai, China, September 21, 2023] At HUAWEI CONNECT 2023, Huawei joined hands with Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Construction Development Co., Ltd. and Beijing CSVision Technology Co., Ltd. to release the Optical-Visual Linkage for Perimeter Protection Technical White Paper (hereinafter referred to as the white paper). The white paper illustrates the technical challenges and requirements on the perimeter protection system, proposes the optical-visual linkage solution, summarizes industry applications of this solution, and outlines the prospects of the optical-visual linkage technology.
Compared with indoor areas and small campuses, railways, airports, and large campuses usually have higher requirements on perimeter protection due to their complicated perimeter situations.
In large-scale perimeter protection scenarios, a single perimeter protection technology cannot simultaneously achieve all-weather detection, zero false negatives, and low false positives. As such, a lot of research in the industry has focused on integrating multiple sensing technologies that can complement each other to meet all perimeter protection requirements.
The optical-visual linkage technology integrates optical fiber sensing and intelligent video sensing to give full play to cross-product advantages such as multi-dimensional awareness, multi-dimensional check, and precise positioning. It helps construct a comprehensive, secure, and intelligent perimeter protection system featuring zero false negatives, low false positives, all-weather detection, and full coverage. It is an ideal choice for various large-scale complex perimeter scenarios such as airports, railways, pipelines, and water conservancy facilities.
The optical-visual linkage technology has the following unique features:
• Both optical fiber sensing and video sensing technologies are used for perimeter protection.
• Optical fiber sensing and video sensing are associated in both the time and space dimensions. They can work together to detect the same object or detection area.
• Optical fibers can drive video-related applications to perform linkage.
• Detection results from multiple sensing technologies can be combined for further analysis to enhance detection accuracy.
At the "F5G Evolution, Bringing Intelligence Everywhere" summit, Lin Weiwen, general manager of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Construction Development Co., Ltd., shared the success case of applying optical-visual linkage technology at the Meizhou Meixian Airport. Lin Weiwen said that the optical-visual linkage solution integrates optical fiber sensing and intelligent vision technologies to construct an intelligent sensing system, serving as a powerful tool for robust perimeter protection in various scenarios such as airports, railways, natural reserves, and important campuses.
As the optical-visual linkage technology grows rapidly, Huawei will work closely with partners to apply optical-visual product portfolios to more perimeter protection scenarios and take perimeter security to new heights.
