The Decent Life Initiative stands as Egypt's largest and most influential national development project of the 21st century. Strategically launched and championed by President Sisi, it serves as a cornerstone for realizing Egypt Vision 2030 and a vital mechanism for aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The initiative underscores Egypt's deep commitment to advancing social equity, driving economic revitalization, and accelerating national modernization — all within the broader framework of building a new republic.
Under this initiative, healthcare system development is a top priority to ensure broad access to high-quality healthcare services. In the first phase (2022–2023), the Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt planned to upgrade and expand decent life medical units, and Huawei proactively participated and supported to digitalized more than 200 medical units all over the governorates.
To build a smart healthcare system and enable IT-based intelligent hospital upgrades, the network construction must meet the following three key requirements:
• Seamless wireless coverage: Full, stable wireless access across all hospital areas ensures that patients can access diagnosis and treatment information anytime and anywhere, doctors can conduct mobile ward rounds efficiently, and nursing staff can manage real-time scheduling, delivering continuous and efficient healthcare services.
• High-speed and low-latency connectivity: Remote consultation and CT/MRI image retrieval require ultra-fast and reliable networks with minimum latency to support timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment.
• Centralized network management: A unified campus network architecture across hundreds of hospitals is essential to streamline operations, enhance O&M efficiency, and reduce overall O&M costs.
Huawei Xinghe Intelligent High-Quality Healthcare Campus Network Solution provides:
Full wireless coverage: The smart antenna technology improves coverage by 20%, while intelligent radio calibration and co-channel interference suppression enable seamless and high-quality Wi-Fi across the entire hospital campus. This ensures uninterrupted network access for healthcare personnel and patients anytime and anywhere.
Low latency and high reliability: Multi-link transmission reduces latency by 50%, while multi-link redundancy guarantees high bandwidth, low latency, and service availability for critical applications such as remote consultation and CT/MRI image retrieval — providing a robust foundation for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
Intelligent O&M: The iMaster NCE platform enables unified management across 200+ campuses with full network visualization, and intelligent diagnosis. AI-powered prediction and fast fault locating improve O&M efficiency by 90% and significantly reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO), delivering a stable and efficient digital foundation for healthcare services.
With the help of Huawei Xinghe Intelligent High-Quality Healthcare Campus Network Solution, healthcare centers under Egypt's Decent Life Initiative have achieved full Wi-Fi coverage, high-performance connectivity, low-latency remote consultation capabilities, and intelligent network-wide O&M. This greatly enhances the coverage and service efficiency of healthcare services. The success of this project not only improves the healthcare experience of millions of citizens, but also sets a benchmark for digital healthcare transformation across Africa. Looking ahead, Huawei will continue collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt to explore new digital healthcare models and build a healthier and smarter society.
