[Baku, Azerbaijan, May 13, 2024] At the Middle East and Central Asia leg of Huawei Network Summit 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan, Ankabut — the Advanced National Research and Education Network (NREN) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) — joined forces with Huawei to unveil the global cloudified data center showcase. This move marks another cooperation milestone, following their strategic cooperation agreement signed during HUAWEI CONNECT 2023. Guests attending the launch ceremony include Fahem Al Nuaimi, CEO of Ankabut, Tao Geng, CEO of Huawei's UAE Representative Office, Liu Gui, Vice President of Huawei's Middle East Enterprise Business Group Marketing & Solution Sales, and Arthur Wang, President of the Data Center Network Domain, Huawei's Data Communication Product Line.
Intelligent upgrade of the education industry in the UAE is well underway. In keeping up with this, Ankabut partnered with Huawei in building full-stack data center infrastructures, including Huawei Cloud Stack (HCS), storage, and data center networks, to provide strong computing power assurance for life sciences, weather forecast, hydromechanics, and urban planning. In particular, Huawei's lossless Ethernet data center network solution stands out as it improves the compute performance by more than 5% on the same server scale. Plus, the open Ethernet architecture protocol enables the unified deployment and operations and maintenance (O&M) of general-purpose computing, storage, and high-performance computing networks, reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO) by 20%.
Fahem Al Nuaimi, Advisor and CEO of Ankabut, said, "By constantly innovating network infrastructures, we can unleash HPC/AI computing power for research and education. We are very optimistic about the future development prospects of lossless Ethernet data center networks, and look forward to closer cooperation with Huawei in the future."
