Huawei's Intent-Driven Network (IDN) leverages a simplified, ultra-broadband network infrastructure to achieve not only wider access but also simpler management. A digital twin is used to build a digital world, enabling technologies such as AI, big data, and cloud to be applied in the network field, creating "autonomous driving" networks.
In 2019, Huawei clearly outlined intelligent IP networks, defining three core capabilities: intelligent connectivity, intelligent Operations and Maintenance (O&M), and intelligent learning. Intelligent connectivity is implemented through intelligent awareness of terminal service experience, real-time analysis, and automated deployment. Intelligent O&M is made possible with real-time issue perception, precise issue locating, and automatic issue fixing. Intelligent learning is realized through service models, fault models, and intelligent training.
Huawei also released an innovative three-layer AI architecture for intelligent IP networks: an AI-powered device layer, an AI-powered network layer, and an AI-powered cloud. The AI-powered device layer builds on Huawei's AI Turbo series of network devices embedded with AI chips, including AirEngine Wi-Fi 6, CloudEngine switches, NetEngine routers, and HiSecEngine security gateways. The AI-powered network layer is realized through iMaster NCE (Huawei's autonomous driving network management and control system). The AI-powered cloud comes with iMaster NAIE (the industry's first network AI center). The three-layer AI architecture delivers new levels of intelligence in IP networks and leads the new era of intelligent IP networks.
Huawei IDN provides enterprises with solutions tailored specifically to scenarios such as campus, data center, WAN, and network security, helping them move toward a fully connected, intelligent world.
Huawei SDSec Solution enables more intelligent threat detection, threat response, and security operations and maintenance and improves the threat prevention capabilities of enterprise networks and telecom infrastructure, thus increasing security O&M efficiency and reducing O&M costs.
Introducing AI-based threat response, software-defined network-security defense, and intelligent security policy optimization, Huawei network security helps mitigate network security risks as customers go digital.
Network Cloud Engine (NCE) is the “brain” of Huawei's Intent-Driven Network (IDN). It integrates the network management, control, and analysis functions. NCE consists of four engines: Intent Engine, Automation Engine, Analysis Engine, and Intelligence Engine. These four engines interact with each other, allowing NCE to provide open northbound APIs to receive business intent as well as collect network data in real time through telemetry, building a digital twin based on unified data modeling. NCE leverages AI and big data to verify business intent and implement proactive O&M of physical networks, implementing intent-driven service automation. It also achieves real-time awareness of the network status and performs predictive maintenance. NCE is designed for scenarios such as data centers, enterprise campuses, and enterprise private lines, making networks more simple, smart, open, and secure, as well as accelerating enterprise service transformation and innovation.
