HNS 2026 | Huawei Launches the Xinghe Intelligent WAN Solution Featuring Multi-Dimensional Security for Southern Africa

[Johannesburg, South Africa, July 23, 2026] At the Huawei Network Summit (HNS) 2026 in Johannesburg, Huawei unveiled its fully upgraded Xinghe Intelligent WAN Solution for the Southern Africa region. The enhancement introduces two core capabilities: intelligent threat prevention and quantum key distribution (QKD)-based quantum security. Together, these capabilities deliver a highly resilient, quantum-resistant, and multi-dimensional secure WAN, laying a solid security foundation for the digital and intelligent transformation of enterprises across Southern Africa.

Today, the dual pressures of network intrusions and quantum decryption attacks continue to intensify. Global Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) are becoming more industrialized and covert, posing new challenges to the stable operation of critical infrastructure in sectors such as finance, electric power, and government. Meanwhile, the risk of HNDL attacks is escalating. Quantum computing now threatens to crack traditional cryptographic algorithms within minutes, putting massive volumes of critical data at risk of breaches.

In response, Huawei has fully upgraded its Xinghe Intelligent WAN Solution to counter these emerging security threats and challenges. By focusing on both routing devices and private lines, the solution establishes a multi-dimensional defense system that seamlessly extends protection from devices to private lines.

Device-Level: APT Defense for Zero-Intrusion Systems

To reduce device-level attacks, Huawei has introduced an industry-unique intelligent intrinsic security board. Powered by an AI model trained on more than a billion attack samples, the board detects file, memory, system, and traffic anomalies in real time, blocks APTs with 100% precision, and halts threats at their sources. This ensures 24/7 service continuity and strengthens device security.

Private Line-Level: Quantum-Safe Private Lines for Zero Data Leakage

To counteract quantum decryption threats, Huawei has upgraded its Xinghe Intelligent Traffic-Encryption Integration Solution. This solution adopts a quantum-against-quantum approach and introduces the industry's first built-in QKD board. By installing flexible QKD boards on routers, the solution eliminates the need for standalone external QKD devices, enabling the convergence of the QKD and communication networks. In addition, by leveraging the unique noise suppression algorithm, the quantum, negotiation, and communication channels are integrated into one for fiber multiplexing. This integration eliminates the need for additional devices and fibers, reducing the overall investment by over 60% to enable large-scale use of QKD. This quantum-safe framework blocks all HNDL attack vectors, securing physical private lines.

Looking ahead, Huawei will continuously assist Southern African governments, electric power companies, and many other key industries in tackling security challenges in the quantum era through the upgraded Xinghe Intelligent WAN Solution.
