Huaneng Lancang River and Huawei Sign Agreement to Deepen Cooperation

[Shenzhen, China, April 17] On April 14, Huaneng Lancang River Hydropower Co., Ltd. (Huaneng Lancang River) and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Huawei) signed a cooperation agreement to deepen their collaboration in technology R&D, scenario-based applications, and ecosystem construction. Attending the signing ceremony were Sun Wei (Chairman and Party Secretary of Huaneng Lancang River), Wang Ziwei (Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy General Manager of Huaneng Lancang River), Li Jiguang (General Manager of Huawei's Government & Enterprise Electric Power Account Department), and Zhang Xiaolei (Deputy General Manager of Huawei's Yunnan Government & Enterprise Business Department).

Sun Wei expressed his gratitude to Huawei for its long-term support of Huaneng Lancang River's development. He noted that the company, closely following the strategic priorities of Huaneng Group, is accelerating its green and digital transformation to better support the development of a strong energy nation.

According to Sun Wei, the two parties have been working closely together in areas such as intelligent enterprise construction, digital and intelligent infrastructure, big data, and cloud computing, achieving remarkable results. He called for deeper communication and closer collaboration between the two parties, with strict implementation of the strategic cooperation agreement between Huaneng Group and Huawei, and full integration of Huaneng Lancang River's industry expertise with Huawei's technological prowess.

By upgrading existing resources and making forward-looking plans across technology R&D, scenario-based applications, and ecosystem construction, they can jointly drive business enablement, value creation, and talent development, while establishing more benchmark cases that demonstrate the power of this cooperation. Together, they will drive the new energy and power systems towards a safer, greener, and more efficient future, making greater strides towards carbon reduction goals.

Li Jiguang warmly welcomed Sun Wei and his delegation and thanked Huaneng Lancang River for its trust and support in Huawei. He stated that the two parties have built a solid cooperation foundation and possess complementary strengths. He underscored the importance of further deepening strategic collaboration, enhancing the joint innovation mechanism, and expanding cooperation across AI foundation models, intelligent PV+ESS integration, and technical talent development. Together, they can build an intelligent clean energy benchmark and advance the digital and intelligent transformation of the energy industry to a new level.

During the visit, Sun Wei and his delegation toured Huawei's Shenzhen headquarters in Bantian and R&D center in Dongguan. The event was attended by relevant department heads from Huawei, along with leaders from relevant departments and local units of Huaneng Lancang River.
