Huawei New-Gen OceanStor 18510/18810 feature industry-leading SmartMatrix architecture, active-active solutions for Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network-Attached Storage (NAS), flash acceleration technology, high-performance hardware platforms, and a wide range of solutions designed to improve data protection efficiency.
Such features provide ultra-high reliability and ultra-high performance to meet data storage requirements across scenarios, from large enterprises and large-scale data warehouses to massive small-files sharing, cloud computing, and more. This makes the systems purpose-built for government, telecom, finance, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors.
Seven-Nines Reliability
• Innovative SmartMatrix full-mesh architecture sets a new benchmark, tolerating the failure of seven out of eight controllers without interrupting services. • 94% of upgrades are performed in user mode, allowing users to upgrade modules within 1 second without restarting controllers. • Gateway-free active-active deployment for SAN and NAS supports smooth upgrade to geo-redundant Three-Data-Center (3DC)/Four-Data-Center (4DC) Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Flash-Like Performance
• Innovative SmartAcceleration technology uses the dynamic adaptive data layout algorithm to accelerate hot data, resulting in two times higher performance than the preceding generation. • The system supports high-density snapshots to achieve zero performance loss. • End to End (E2E) Non-Volative Memory express (NVMe) architecture slashes latency to just 0.05 ms for a premium, all-flash experience.

• SAN and NAS converged architecture allows a single storage system to meet various service requirements — block, files, container, virtualization, and more — yielding higher storage utilization and lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). • The ransomware protection solution features Air Gap, secure snapshots, and E2E encryption technologies to effectively defend against ransomware attacks*. • The system supports private and hybrid clouds, as well as cloud backup services, providing users with multiple cloudification strategy choices.
