[Warsaw, Poland, March 19, 2021] Kozminski University and Huawei Poland provide students with one of the most innovative educational solutions - the Huawei IdeaHub. This is another joint initiative of Huawei and Kozminski University for the development of Polish science, following the launch of the postgraduate studies 'Managing Cyber Security' and the ICT Academy program.
Huawei IdeaHub is a modern tool distinguished in last year's Red Dot Design Award competition, enhancing the capabilities of a smart office or - as in this case - a smart classroom. It combines the functions of intelligent handwriting recognition, high-definition video conferencing and wireless content sharing. The device is equipped with two advanced system-on-chip chips.
By using artificial intelligence algorithms, it enables efficient calculations and charts generation. In turn, as many as 12 built-in microphones, as well as speakers and a 4K camera, significantly increase the efficiency of communication. The technologies used enable, among others, automatic transfer of notes prepared by the teacher to the students during classes. Communication with external devices is wireless.
“We are very pleased about the cooperation with Huawei, which allows us to develop both remote and hybrid teaching formats on a completely different level. We see it as another element of the ambitious process of our digital transformation. ” said Prof. Aleksandra Przegalińska-Skierkowska, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and ESR, Leader of the Management and Artificial Intelligence Bachelor program.
Equipping the smart classroom is another element of the cooperation between Huawei Poland and KU. In the fall semester, the first postgraduate program in Cyber Security Management was launched, taught and co-created by Rafał Jaczyński, Regional Cyber Security Officer at Huawei. In turn, as a result of joining Huawei ICT Academy program, Kozminski University students have already gained access to several levels of training where they can broaden their knowledge in such technologies as 5G, big data, artificial intelligence or cloud computing.
“We are a company that allocates several percent of its revenues to research and development. It is a natural step for us to invest in cooperation for science in the countries where we operate, and Poland is a particularly important market for Huawei due to the R&D center located in Warsaw and the headquarters in CEE&Nordic European Region. I am convinced that thanks to the cooperation with Polish universities, in this case Kozminski University, in the future specialists on the Polish labour market will be even better educated, which will be beneficial for everyone.” adds Ryszard Hordyński, Senior Director, Strategy and Communications at Huawei Poland.
