[Dubai, UAE, October 15, 2024] During GITEX GLOBAL 2024, Huawei launched the New-Gen OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa regions. The announcement was made during the Industrial Digital and Intelligent Transformation Summit. Huawei outlined its aims of helping enterprises in various industries tackle the data challenges of the AI era and accelerating digital and intelligent transformation through data infrastructure innovation.
The intelligent era is the golden age of data. Core AI applications, such as large AI models, embodied AI, and AI for science, significantly are driven by data. This poses higher requirements on data processing efficiency.In addition, black swan events frequently occur. Cyberattacks are on the rise and increasingly ambitious in scope. The evolving threat landscape has created the need to continually upgrade and enhance data infrastructure defenses.
The need to build more efficient and reliable data infrastructure has become a broadly accepted truth.
Against this backdrop, Huawei launched the New-Gen OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage to meet enterprises' data storage requirements for mission-critical applications. The storage boasts three key characteristics:
• Extreme Performance: A data-processing-unit-based (DPU-based) SmartNIC separates data flows from control flows, averting potential processor performance bottlenecks. The newly upgraded FLASHLINK® intelligent disk-controller-DPU collaboration algorithm enables over 100 million IOPS and brings latency down to a mere 0.03 ms. The performance of new-gen all-flash storage is triple that of the previous-generation product.
• Extreme Resilience: With the SmartMatrix full-mesh architecture, the New-Gen OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage can tolerate the failure of up to seven out of eight controller enclosures without service interruption, with 99.99999% reliability of a single system. Furthermore, the new-gen OceanStor Dorado features ransomware protection for SAN and NAS across all zones, achieving a ransomware detection rate of up to 99.99%. Meanwhile, intelligent snapshot correlation analysis and intelligent snapshot synthesis technologies ensure 100% data availability after recovery.
• AI-Ready: The New-Gen OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage uses a native unified storage architecture for blocks, files, and objects, to support various applications such as databases, files, and containers. The Data Management Engine (DME) allows for dialog-based O&M and can proactively detect exceptions through the use of large AI models, improving O&M efficiency fivefold.
