Huawei Enables High-Speed and Centralized ICT Operations for Malaysia’s Institute of Teacher Education - IPG Ilmu Khas Campus
With overall responsibility for determining the policies and direction of the education system in the country, Malaysia's Ministry of Education (MOE) operates a wide range of public institutions that provide education and training for both educators and students.
The Institute of Teacher Education (IPG) Ilmu Khas Campus is, for example, a teaching college under the MOE that trains educators before they are appointed to teach in schools. Located in the country's capital city, Kuala Lumpur, it is just one of a number of training campuses spread across the country. A large building offering plenty of classrooms and study halls, IPG Ilmu Khas Campus alone accommodates over 1000 future educators. The legacy network architecture of the campus consisted of a combination of wired and wireless networks but lacked centralized management of equipment and servers. This legacy network infrastructure also didn't support high-speed connections nor capacity expansion.
