Huawei and partners released the Technical & Application White Paper for All-Optical Campus Network

Based on the practical experience of Huawei, industry customers, and partners, the Technical & Application White Paper for All-Optical Campus Network describes the development history of the all-optical network industry, and technical differences and advantages between the all-optical network solution and traditional solutions. It also describes application cases in major scenarios such as digital campus, smart hospital, smart campus, smart hotel, and smart manufacturing, and predicts the ecosystem and development trend of the all-optical campus network industry.

Kim Jin, Vice President of Huawei Optical Business Product Line, said, "All-optical campus networks have been widely used around the world. Huawei incorporated its understanding of all-optical campus networks and industry practices into the white paper to provide reference for customers and partners. We look forward to working with the industry to explore and promote the development of passive optical LAN (POL), fully explore the business value of POL, and unleash the digital productivity of the industry."

Martin Chiesa, a senior consultant from BSRIA, said that POL has been recognized by industry customers and gradually becomes the mainstream campus network solution. In 2019, POL was mainly used in office buildings, hotels, and governments. By the end of 2022, it had been widely used in various industries such as education, healthcare, and vertical industries. According to BSRIA's prediction, the POL market will reach US$850 million to US$1 billion by 2025.
