Integrated Oil and Gas (Pipeline) Network Solution Builds Intelligent
Operations Foundation for Long-Distance Oil and Gas Pipelines

Oil and gas pipeline communication networks provide communication for long-distance oil and gas pipelines. As a means of long-distance transmission, networks are often forced to cope with long pipelines, many nodes, increasing service traffic, aging pipelines, and low O&M efficiency. Not only this, but oil and gas pipelines everywhere are going digital. This means that pipeline networks must now provide high reliability and bandwidth, low latency, unified service bearing, and easy methods of O&M.

Huawei's Integrated Oil and Gas (Pipeline) Network Solution is based on Huawei's full range of network communication products. Focusing on various network scenarios such as production, video, office, and life of long-distance oil and gas pipelines, the solution is an integrated industrial Internet solution for long-distance oil and gas transportation. It achieves this through the combination of advanced network technologies like F5G, industrial switch, Wi-Fi 6, IPv6+, and network security. Huawei's vision of a unified architecture, one network bearing, and integrated security made this solution cohesive and dynamic. It supports the upload and delivery of oil and gas field production data and cloud algorithms.

Benefits

Unified Architecture

• Develop a unified network standard to ensure long-term evolution requirements

Unified O&M

• Provide standardized interfaces, support intelligent operations, and improve network accessibility

One Network for Multiple Purposes

• Multi-network collaboration, such as backbone, WAN, and LAN

Integrated Security

• Integrated network and security, area- and domain-based security design, and encrypted data transmission

Architecture

Backbone layer:

Use 10/100G OTN networking to provide large-capacity service scheduling; use ASON technologies to improve network survivability and ensure sustainable network evolution.

Aggregation layer:

Use 10G MS-OTN/IP networking to flexibly aggregate and access SDH and Ethernet services for BVSs, stations, and office areas; keep compatible with existing bearer networks.

Access layer:

Industrial optical networks access production services and IP+optical access office services. Traditional BVSs use SDH or OTN networking. Low-power BVSs can use industrial switches or optical transmission CPEs based on projects.
