Privacy Statement for Huawei Exhibition Area of GITEX GLOBAL Dubai 2024

HUAWEI Exhibition Area of GITEX GLOBAL Dubai 2024 is operated by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, Office Building of Huawei Headquarters, Bantian, Longgang District, Shenzhen (“Huawei”, “us” or “we”) who provides technology and management support. As the data controller, Huawei is very aware of how important your privacy is to you, and is committed to respecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement ("this Statement") describes how Huawei uses your personal data and protects your privacy when you visit HUAWEI Exhibition Area of GITEX GLOBAL Dubai 2024 (“the Exhibition”) or you register to watch the sessions and forums video replay online. Please read the following to learn more about our Privacy Statement. Huawei may inform you of product- or service-specific data collection through supplementary policies or notices before collection.

1 How We Collect and Use Your Personal Data

Personal data is any information or data that may identify an individual or individuals when being used independently or jointly with other information. This statement informs you on how Huawei process your personal data and provide you services during the GITEX.

The personal data we collect and process includes:

Event Management: To enable you to visit to the exhibition, we will register you in our internal platform, your name, email addresses, country/region, enterprise name, job position, business relationship between your organization with Huawei and login information (account name) will be processed based on our legitimate interest of enabling us to more effectively manage our event and provide our service to you.

Promotion of the event: To promote the event, we will make recordings and video replay of the session and forum, take photos of you as the speaker, or of the event in general manner. The two processing scenarios below are all based on our legitimate interest of marketing the event held by us. If you do not wish any further use of the photographs and recordings showing you, please access our Personal Data Management Request Platform https://www.huawei.com/en/personal-data-request.

- Video of the session/forum and photograph of the speaker: The processing (including further promotion), will only be based on the speaker’s prior confirmation to the Authorization Letter. If you have not given us the authorization, your image, voice and/or other information will not be processed.

- Photograph and video shooting in general about the event/venue: we may take photos and videos to promote the popularity of the event and present the venue in general. Your image may be fully or partially included unintentionally as an accessory image of the event.

Apply permit for speakers: Based on legal obligation or legitimate interests’ basis, we will collect the speakers’ colored- photocopy of the passport, BIO photograph and A profile of the speaker, we will transfer the information to DWTC to apply for the permit, all information will be deleted from both Huawei and the agency upon receiving the permit.

Interactive experiences: Based on your consent, some booths provide you with specific experiences and may collect your portrait, video streaming and/or voice. The majority of information provided during the interactive experiences will not be stored and is only processed during the interactive experience. However, it is possible some information such as portrait will be stored during interactive experiences will be deleted after 1 (one) day after the event. Whenever the aforementioned storage occurs, we will provide detailed record notices in the exhibition area.

Access and authentication: Based on our legitimate interest of authentication and enhancing the brand event experience, we may process information to count the number of visitors, anonymous ID will be recorded for areas that need to be authenticated.

Viewing of video replay: In order to enable your access to our sessions and forums video replay, you need to register online. Your first name, last name, email, company name, industry and country/region will be processed during the registration. This is based on our legitimate interest of marketing and provide our service to you.

Electronic Direct Marketing/EDM: After obtaining your consent, your first name, last name, email, company name, industry and country/region will be processed that provided during your registration for downloading conference materials or viewing of video reply, and your feedback to our questionnaire after viewing of video reply. We will send the latest information of products, solutions and services, the upcoming event available for your region.

You have the right to withdraw your consent through the “Unsubscribe” option in any of EDM Email, or as described in Section 5 of this statement.

Wi-Fi connection: When you choose to connect to the Wi-Fi in Huawei Exhibition Area, we will collect the MAC address and IP address of your terminal to provide wireless network connection services for you. In addition, the system will automatically record the IP address of your device and the time when you connect to or disconnect from the network.

Project Approaching: If you have purchase or project cooperation requirements, your personal information and project information, including your first name, last name, email, phone number, country/region, company, interested products and project description will be collected after obtaining your consent. We will arrange local Huawei employees or authorized partners to contact you and provide you with further detailed information or consulting suggestions.

2 Cookies and Similar Technologies

2.1 Cookies

To ensure our website works correctly, we may at times place a small piece of data known as a cookie on your computer or mobile device. A cookie is a text file stored by a web server on a computer or mobile device. The content of a cookie can be retrieved or read only by the server that creates the cookie. The text in a cookie often consists of identifiers, site names, and some numbers and characters. 2.2 Web Beacons and Pixel Tags

In addition to cookies, we may also use other similar technologies on our websites such as beacons and pixel tags. For example, when you receive an email from Huawei, it may contain a click-through URL that links to a Huawei web page. If you click the link, Huawei will track your visit to help us learn about your preferences for products and services and improve our customer service. A web beacon is a transparent graphic image embedded in a website or in an email. We use pixel tags in emails to find out whether an email has been opened. You can unsubscribe from the Huawei mailing list at any time if you do not want to be tracked in this manner.

3 How long and where do we store your data

The data retain period may vary with scenario and service. Your personal data will be stored in UAE, Ireland and China. After the retention period expires, we will erase or anonymize your personal data.

4 How do we store and share your data?

Event Management We use the CIMS system deployed in UAE remotely process your relevant data in China, to have our local affiliates to coordinate participants on our behalf, we will disclose your data provided for registration. We procure event organization suppliers to produce your name tag, your relevant data will be shared with them as well. As a global company, your personal data collected by Huawei may be processed or accessed in UAE or in other countries/regions outside UAE. Huawei complies with local legal requirements for providing adequate safeguards by incorporating the Standard Contractual Clauses with relevant supplementary measures in such transfer.
Promotion of the event We procure The Hanging House, a UAE supplier to provide video shooting and photographer service to us, the data will be saved in UAE, then transferred to China. Video and photograph of the speaker will be disseminated to promoting channels as specified in the Authorization letter confirmed by you. Video shooting or photograph in general about the event/venue, will be disseminated globally on our social media channels, presentation, brochures. Summit and Forum video replay clips will be completed in China by our authorized supplier.
Access and authentication We procured a supplier from China who provides the access and authentication service to us. The statistical data of number of people in exhibition area (Nonpersonal data) everyday will be transferred to China for analyzing the quality of our services and product.
Apply permit for speakers We transfer speaker’s information to DWTC who is the organizer of GITEX, DWTC will use the information to apply the permit for speakers.
Interactive experiences Video conference experiences will generate video streaming transfer to server in China and send it back to screen onsite after processed, your data will not be stored. Other scenarios data such as video, photography or voice will be save in the device onsite for 1 day.
Viewing of video replay For further marketing, we procured Dmartech platform provided by Webpower, which is deployed in the Republic of Ireland to store and remotely process your relevant data in China, to have our local affiliates around the world to coordinate participants on our behalf, your relevant data will be also be shared with them so they can produce your name tag.
EDM All Huawei local affiliates around the world will have access to the participants who subscribed EDM, so as to send out tailored promotion email in local language.
Wi-Fi Connection We provide Wi-Fi Service from Huawei RDC deployed in UAE.
Project Approaching Purchase or project cooperation requirements will be stored in Huawei global system, requirements around the world will be transferred to local Huawei employees or authorized partners

Disclosures related to legal requirements and business transactions:

Huawei may share your data in response to a legal process or request from a competent authority based on an applicable law or in connection with legal proceeding or process.

Your data may also be disclosed as part of merger, acquisition, sale of assets (such as service agreements) or transition of service to a Huawei group or other relevant company.

5 What are your rights and choices?

You can enter into the Huawei Data Subject Request Portal to exercise your data subject right.
Right of Access You have the right to obtain from Huawei confirmation as to whether or not Personal Data concerning you is being processed and, where that is the case, access to a copy of the Personal Data and specific information about how Huawei processes your Personal Data.
Right of Rectification (Correction) You have the right to obtain from Huawei the correction of inaccurate Personal Data concerning you and also the right to have incomplete Personal Data completed.
Right of Erasure (Deletion) You have the right to obtain from Huawei the erasure (deletion) of your Personal Data in particular circumstances.
Right of Restriction You have the right to obtain from Huawei restriction of processing in particular circumstances.
Right of Objection You have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Data in particular circumstances.
Right of Portability In certain circumstances, you have the right to receive your Personal Data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to another controller. Please bear in mind that the right of portability does not apply in the case of processing personal data on legal obligation or legitimate interests’ basis.
Right to Withdraw Consent Where the legal basis of processing Personal Data is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by providing a withdrawal notice to Huawei. Please note, however, that the withdrawal of your consent will not affect any use of the Personal Data made before you withdrew your consent.
Right to lodge a Complaint If you consider your Personal Data is not being processed in compliance with the applicable laws, you have the right to lodge a complaint with any relevant supervisory authority.
