André Dyatala Miezi, Maintenance Officer of Domitys 'L'Ellipse' Residence, said that since 2018, the demand for reliable network connectivity in Domitys residential projects has surged—both for operational services (restaurant cashier systems, mobile management tools, property monitoring, maintenance, and video conferencing) and for residents themselves. As seniors increasingly rely on digital services, the limitations of the old network became clear, leading to frequent complaints. As Domitys continues to expand, network upgrades are becoming urgent. Domitys aims to improve device performance, optimize user experience, and strengthen system security through hardware redundancy and enhanced safeguards.

André Dyatala Miezi also said that the traditional network setup used by Domitys was far from ideal. Wi-Fi coverage in apartments was weak, and roaming between access points was poor. Residents had to manually reconnect when moving around, resulting in poor user experience. Meanwhile, maintenance staff had to check devices one by one during faults—a time-consuming and inefficient process.

After investigation, Domitys partnered with Huawei and introduced the FTTO (Fiber to the Office) solution, ushering in a new era of smart elderly care.

"One optical fiber is routed into a room, and one optical terminal can handle it all." This principle introduces three core transformations brought by the Huawei FTTO solution:

Space-saving cabling: In the traditional solution, multiple network cables need to be routed from the ELV room to each apartment. However, the FTTO solution requires only one optical fiber per room, and uses a single optical terminal (ONT) to carry multiple services—Wi-Fi, TV, and telephone—reducing cabling by 80%.

Reduced O&M pressure: Traditional active switches are replaced by passive optical splitters. These compact devices require no power supply and virtually no maintenance, thereby eliminating the need for equipment room maintenance. The ELV room transforms from a cluttered "device warehouse" into a clean, simplified space. The OLT manages ONTs in a unified manner, which streamlines operations, and reduces fault risks and maintenance workload.

Improved customer satisfaction: The FTTO solution enables fast roaming, eliminating video freezing and disconnections. The network is stable, responsive, and reliable, dramatically improving resident satisfaction.
