RLC Architekten boosts collaboration with Huawei IdeaHub S2

Planning and designing together – whether in the office, on the construction site or at different locations: Swiss architectural firm RLC relies on the Huawei IdeaHub S2 interactive whiteboard and benefits from more creative and efficient video conferencing.

Spontaneous changes slow down collaboration

RLC Architekten AG is a renowned Swiss architecture firm with 90 employees at two locations. "With our team, we cover the entire construction process from planning to realization. Every project starts with an idea, which we visualize and refine," says Michael Gnädinger, CEO of RLC Architekten AG. However, coordinating with different teams or the client was not always easy. “Different locations, complex projects and changes that had to be implemented immediately slowed us down in our day-to-day work,” says Christian Käser, Head of ICT at RLC. The company therefore needed a flexible and powerful device for its meeting rooms in order to hold video conferences, share presentations and edit files live. In the purpose of integrating external employees and customers, RLC was looking for a solution that did not require an additional app and was compatible with a wide range of different devices such as PCs, tablets and smartphones.

BYOM, 4K transmission and on-screen drawings

After a thorough review of various solutions, RLC opted for the Huawei IdeaHub S2 interactive conferencing tool. The flexible bring-your-own-meeting function allows users to use their preferred video conferencing app on the IdeaHub S2. With the driverless IdeaShare Key, users can also share their screen quickly and easily, regardless of location. In addition, the integrated high-resolution 4K camera ensures clear video transmissions, which is particularly beneficial when presenting detailed architectural designs. Another highlight is the IdeaHub's responsive touchscreen, on which handwritten notes or drawings can be entered with virtually no noticeable latency.

Cleverly connected

The versatile system improves collaboration in different locations by allowing instant feedback and making presentations interactive: “Huawei's IdeaHub enables us to outline, approve and adapt designs in real time – regardless of whether we are brainstorming together, preparing presentations for customers or connecting from different locations,” says CEO Gnädinger. The IdeaHub also provides the necessary hardware for high-quality audio and video conferencing. Vivian Guyer, Site Manager at RLC, emphasizes: “Functions such as the IdeaShare Key ensure that we can coordinate, exchange ideas, make decisions and stay connected, no matter where we are.”
