NetEngine40E
Based on a 2T platform, equipped with NP chipsets, and powered by its Versatile Routing Platform (VRP), the NetEngine 40E series provides the industry’s highest capacity 2T routing line cards. Combining performance with low power consumption, innovative Internet Protocol (IP) hard pipe technology, and quick evolution capabilities, NetEngine 40E routers meet the low latency and high reliability requirements of business-critical services as well as mature Wide Area Network (WAN) Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions. They can serve as core nodes on enterprise WANs, access nodes on large-scale enterprise networks, interconnection and aggregation nodes on campus networks, and edge nodes on large-scale Internet Data Center (IDC) networks.
NetEngine 40E is an award-winning series widely adopted by governments and industries, including electric power, transportation, broadcasting and television, and finance.
Industry-leading boards can evolve to 4T and will provide 400G ports in the near future. High-density, compact ports save space and Huawei’s proprietary Solar chipsets and energy-saving technology deliver large capacity and high performance with low power consumption.
With an SDN architecture, industry-leading Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and native IP network optimization technologies, NetEngine40E eliminates problems such as uneven traffic distribution, low bandwidth utilization, and low network convergence caused by repeated topology computations in the case of faults.
A major Huawei innovation (RFC 7625), IP hard pipe technology uses existing technologies, such as Multiprotocol Label Switching Traffic Engineering (MPLS TE) and Hierarchical Quality Of Service (HQoS), to guarantee the exclusive Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH)-like hard pipe use of leased line services through hardware resource reservation, ensuring low latency and high reliability.
