HNS 2023 | Huawei's Intelligent Cloud WAN Accelerates New Enterprise Development

Oct 27, 2023

[Munich, Germany, October 27, 2023] Hundreds of industry experts and partners from European countries assembled at Huawei Network Summit 2023 (Europe) to discuss leading-edge topics such as intelligent transformation of industries and the emerging trend of enterprise WAN construction. In particular, Huawei Datacom proposed the concept of intelligent cloud WAN construction for Europe, noting that CloudWAN 3.0 + convergence can help build a simpler and more efficient network.

The wave of intelligence is picking up momentum, and numerous industries are looking to intelligent transformation opportunities to solve their pain points. Smart governments need to build their own private networks to expand the public service scope, but suffer from insufficient optical fiber resources. ISPs need to improve network service quality to meet increasing traffic requirements, yet they lack the required network bandwidth. New key services such as drone inspection and relay protection in the electric power sector require flexible connections, but service experience cannot be guaranteed. Remote dispatching of high-speed trains in the transportation sector requires intelligent monitoring, but O&M is complex and difficult.

Focusing on WANs for intelligent transformation of industries, Arkadiusz Giedrojc, CTO of Huawei European Enterprise Solutions, delivered a keynote speech entitled "CloudWAN 3.0: Leading Innovation of IPv6 Enhanced and Intelligent Solution," and proposed three capability innovations to accelerate new enterprise development and facilitate intelligent transformation of industries.

Keynote speech delivered by Arkadiusz Giedrojc, CTO of Huawei European Enterprise Solutions

Arkadiusz Giedrojc introduced the details of the fully upgraded CloudWAN 3.0 solution. Based on the innovative hardware architecture and mature IPv6 Enhanced system, this solution provides three unique capabilities — converged device, converged network, and converged management — to significantly improve the quality of flexible access, service isolation, and network O&M on enterprise WANs.

  • Converged device: Huawei NetEngine 8000 series supports 400GE ports, efficient data transmission, and ultra-broadband interconnection. Full-service routers support the combination of SR, CGN, IPsec, BRAS, and SA, saving space and reducing power consumption. Built-in service awareness boards support differentiated scheduling of multi-dimensional computing power, improve network utilization, and meet the requirements of video conference assurance, data redundancy elimination, and application awareness. They also implement application SLA analysis and improve user experience.
  • Converged network: The intelligent cloud terminal NetEngine A800 E series supports a minimum of 2 Mbps elastic bandwidth, and on-demand slicing can be performed based on service requirements, reducing network construction costs. Enterprise WAN branches support wired and wireless access from anywhere for improved network coverage. SRv6 one hop cloud access enables services to be quickly migrated to the cloud through the optimal path to achieve minute-level service provisioning. Differentiated SLA assurance meets the security isolation requirements of production services such as power relay protection and train control and dispatching, improves the bearing capability of core production services, and provides deterministic assurance.
  • Converged management: The Network Digital Map 2.0 of iMaster NCE-IP implements 6-layer real-time SLA visualization, improving O&M efficiency and achieving second-level service quality awareness. Millions of paths can be optimized based on SRv6 and Network Digital Map. More than 200+ typical network risks can be proactively identified to ensure zero service interruptions and implement comprehensive network protection.

Speech by Zuo Meng, President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line Metro Router Domain

At the WAN sub-forum, Zuo Meng, President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line Metro Router Domain, delivered a speech, in which he pointed out that ICT infrastructure is the foundation of the digital economy. As a bridge between campus networks and data centers, WANs support enterprise production and office network systems and are critical to building a foundation for intelligent transformation of industries in Europe.

In the future, Huawei will make continuous improvements to the intelligent cloud WAN for data communication, develop leading solutions and products, and work with ecosystem partners to create a better digital future and make greater contributions to economic growth and social development.
